Every year nearly 10 million Iranians send their letters to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with hopes of better lives. Despite his growing popularity, the president’s populist policies are yet to prove themselves since most Iranians are still living in poverty. Petr Lom, the director of the film, was allowed to accompany the president on several countryside trips (the only foreigner given such access), and the result is an astounding look of Iran beyond the news.
